||The McDonald family of Scotland and Ireland. Descendants of Andrew McDonald (1826-1911), who was born in Kilkenny, Ireland and died in Stag Creek, Low Twp., Gatineau, Quebec. He married Amelia "Emily" Rath (ca. 1816-1913) in 1849 in St. Philips, Richmond, Carleton, Ontario. They were parents of eight children born in Low Twp., Quebec. Descendants in this book are through their oldest son, Michael McDonald (1854-1926), who married Ellenor "Ellen" Sullivan (1854- 1940), daughter of Patrick Sullivan and Mary Kelly, in 1880 in St. Camille, Farrellton, Gatineau, Quebec. He died in Missoula, Mont., she in Spokane, Wash. They were parents of nine children all born on their grandfather's farm in Quebec. Family members migrated to Montana and Wisconsin in the early 1900's. Descendants live in Montana, Wisconsin, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Canada and elsewhere.
